| The PS3 as you all know has a very powerful but complicated CPU. The decision to use a CPU was at first frowned upon because of how hard it is to program games for. But that decision seems to be paying off now with developers finally figuring out this advanced hardware that makes games like Uncharted 2 possible. The PS3’s Cell Processor GPU combo gives it the power to process more than 2.0 trillion floating point operations per second (FLOPS) compared to the Xbox 360’s 355 Billion FLOPS. The recent release of Saboteur shows off how much better the PS3 can smooth edges in games over the Xbox 360. And most developers have said that they have just tapped into the power of the PS3 and say there is a lot more that it has to offer. The hope is to see more developers use the power of the PS3 and make more beautiful games. | |

Very nice post! 2 trillion huh? That is a pretty amazing fact and some information I was unaware of. | |

| I wish Valve would write for PS3. I love their games, especially those involving zombies , but their stubborn refusal to write programs on the PS3 platform continues to astound me. If they're going to go 'exclusive' they might as well have microsoft pay them!! Apparently though, it's all because of this exact issue- that writing for the PS3 is quite complicated (overly complicated in Valve's opinion.) Anyways, a little bit of a tangent, but my two cents. | |
